ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Shane Charles Sourgose is an author, producer and advocate living in southern California and writing two novels, a dark-comedy The Chronicles of Preston and Jerry and action/thriller The Professional, the Cleaner and the Lookout, his mission is to build literacy through humanitarian and environmentalist efforts.

San Francisco Bay Area author and poet, Shane Charles Sourgose, explored the interior of Suriname through the Sipaliwini district alongside a Peace Corps Volunteer; his initial efforts began May 11, 2011 and concluded May 21, 2011, but his work is nearly finished.


During his venture through the Amazon jungle, Sourgose not only practiced his Dutch, but obliged the Maroon linguistic of Saramaka.


“Like any tourist, I was given a hard time at first, though once I got the greetings and appreciations down, was given right into their culture,” Sourgose states during a phone meeting with investors and fellow press.


Sourgose met with members of WASH UNICEF, Stichting FOB and Suriname Red Cross, respectively, in regards to humanitarian and environmentalist work focusing on literary arts.


“I originally had the conception of assisting literacy during my stay, but through my findings, viewed that my energies should be better directed towards conserving the Amazon, in addition to the wellbeing of inhabitants through education.”


Shane Charles Sourgose plans to meet with members of the United States Embassy at their May 26th viewing of Edge of America at the American Corner CCS; on a forthcoming date, he campaigns to also meet with the Embassy of Netherlands in Suriname regarding a recycling and sanitation program to assist with the communities he visited.

From book number two to South America, author Shane Charles Sourgose is changing the world through literary arts!

With the liberation of poetry piece Sonnets, Songs & Soliloquies, follow-up to Lulu Press sex & relationships bestseller Life in the City , and with the achievement of his “Dirty Little Secrets…” event in San Francisco, author Shane Charles Sourgose is now touring the country of Suriname.

“I will be visiting a village within Suriname beside a Peace Corps Volunteer in order to experience the country firsthand and endure through all of its beauty,” Sourgose stated during a meeting held yesterday with the office of Public Affairs at the United States Embassy located in Paramaribo.

Sourgose also accredited during the conference, “This in turn will assist to better my knowledge with Suriname, absorbing the duel-linguistics in order to conduct work in regards to literacy and the literary arts.”

Throughout his stay in Suriname, Sourgose will be operating closely with the Peace Corps as well as the US Embassy to assure that his mission in literary advocacy is fulfilled.

North Star Print (NSP) has released in a conference with a representative of the Peace Corps that author, Shane Charles Sourgose, is to venture through Suriname during the coming months.

“I will be an advocate of NSP during my voyage through the country, we hope to bring unity through literacy,” Sourgose states.

In addition, the author plans to manage two fictional stories during his journey and will release passages through a blog.

Author Shane Charles Sourgose talks about his current piece and what's to come!

Life in the City author, Shane Charles Sourgose, takes some time from writing to talk with the editors of North Star Print.

I first heard of Shane Charles as a public relations firm run by an exuberant young alumni of San Francisco State University, this same youth now a man has just released a very personal book that accounts his life in San Francisco from 2004 to 2010, referencing sex and relationships.

“My readers are calling it the ‘Gay Sex and the City’,” accounts author Sourgose during our interview. “I’d like to say it’s my homage to Kerouac’s the Dharma Bums . . . transformation into adulthood with notions of self-discovery along the way.”

Glass Kandi is to release exclusive Life in the City books with handwritten secrets from the author. “I’m not too sure when [Glass Kandi] will release them, but I do know that the secrets I’ll write into them are very dirty. . .”

When asked about his personal life, Sourgose did shy away with a smirk and answer, “I’m a really-really private person that tends to vent through my writing!” I knew then to move forward with Shane Charles’ forthcoming fictional pieces.

“The Chronicles of Preston and Jerry was originally a television project that I created with fellow actor/producer Sean Grady.” Sourgose leans forward and continues, “It’s quite comical, very Neil Simon meets Will & Grace!”

“My other book, The Professional, Cleaner and Lookout, is an action/thriller about three friends who find themselves in a life of espionage,” Sourgose smiles in delight, “an inner Angelina Jolie is coming out and kicking a lot of guys’ ass!”

Shane Charles plans to travel through Suriname beginning May 2011 and exploit his ventures in an upcoming book simply titled 5. “In that book, my journey begins. . .”
